WALKING more and more

Jilly is off and running. It was the 4th of July this week and we took her to the Y pool. She was there for a few hrs and was exhausted by the time we came home. She was in bed by 6:30 and didn't even wake for the fireworks across the street. She is walking alot in the pool. Today she was off and running in the stores. We are trying to find good walking shoes for her.

Jillian also went to her first real concert. Alive after Five on Thursday night. She hung out and danced a little. Mostly she went through her diaper bag a few times but we danced to Yo Mamma Big Fat Booty Band and she really enjoyed it till about 7 and then she hit her wall.

She has been napping long naps here on the weekends. She is also going to bed later around 7pm and waking around 6:15-7am.

Our friends come up for the weekend to visit and Jillian did real well. We went to lunch at Mac's Speed Shop and she was having a good old time. Our waitress were even taking her out to look at some Harleys. Later that day we lost power from some nasty thunderstorms but the power finally come on right before she went to bed.

Sunday she went to Mellow Mushroom and then to the pool with Dad and Todd. She was having a good ole' time, walking all over the pool deck straight for the pool. Whenever we took her out of the pool, she would walk back to the fence at the kiddie pool and shake the fence trying to get back in!

We're Walking!!!!!

The week started out with Jillian trying to stand on her own. She tried to stand up from the floor or the chair in a crouching position. She finally did it on her own Tuesday. She then attempted to make steps from it. On Friday she got up from her Fisher Price chair and did a few steps on her own with me.

On Saturday we took her to the Y pool and she took about 10 steps by herself in the pool! On Sunday we took her back to the pool and she was walking all over the place in the toddler pool!!! A few hours after we got home, she stood up by herself and took about 5 steps unassisted to Daddy! She tries to go way too fast but she is doing pretty well. She took about three more walks sunday night.

Saturday night we all went to Jim and Julie's couples shower. She stayed up way past her bedtime. She woke up around midnight screaming but went back to sleep. She didn't wake up until almost 7:30 but then took a 3 HOUR nap before we went to the pool. Of course we kept her up the rest of the day and she was very crabby before bed.

She is starting to not eat that well. Feeding has not been fun but hopefully it will get better. She screams and carries on real fast in the highchair.

Back to daycare.. : (

Jilly was back at daycare today. Had a good day though but her little friend Annie is no longer there for the summer so that is a bummer.

This weekend we did nothing really. I was stuck running a 10K and at a babyshower so Jilly hung out with daddy all day (literally). We then took her to a Chinese restuarant for dinner. Lots of people stare at her b/c of her pox, and one waiter had to ask what was wrong. On Sunday we ran errands and bought flowers but it was so hot to plant during the day and she did not want to be outside in the heat. She is eating at least one good meal a day and picking at the rest. She has had diarreha really bad so she was on a bland diet (BRAT) and it seems to have helped. Her diaper rash was horrible.

Her top teeth are starting to poke through finally. She HATES for anyone to feel or look at them so its hard to tell for sure. She is so funny about that. She re-found her infant bath tub and loves to get in and out of it. She also has refound the stationary entertainer and was in it for 30 mins each day over the weekend.

She has picked up the signs for "all done" and "up". Trying to say doggy. LOVES to walk up and down the hall with her walkers (again) but is being stubborn and refusing to stand or walk on her own.

Chicken Pox!

Its chicken pox! We woke up Sunday and Jillys spots were alittle more pronounced. She had a few yesterday but I thought they were zits. A few on her head and a few on her back. Then today the ones one her eye corners stood out. She was itching her eyes and nose alot today. Then more popped out on her back, neck and ears. She was crabbier then usual this morning and ended up with 3 naps today. She didnt eat much. She loved the pizza. Right now she doesnt seem to be in alot of pain. I gave her some Tylenol earlier for her fever.

Luau. 1st Party

Saturday opened with a bang. Jilly slept late! Jilly, myself and Linda went out to Kohls, picked up her cake and made some food. Brian and Wayne decorated the house. The house looked great!. Everyone arrived and Jilly wore her grass skirt. She was wide awake and happy the whole time.
We had cake, drank and ate. It was fun! When everyone left Brians dad and Patti stayed and we opened their gifts. After they left we opened the rest and Jilly got to play with them the next day. She went to sleep around 7. Woke a few times that night

Happy 1st Birthday!!!

It was Jillys b-day and we celebrated 2x. Brians mom came down Thursday (her actual b-day) and we celebrated it that night by giving her faves like hotdogs and cheese. Then she had cake and opened presents. Brian bought her a chair that makes noise and she loves it!. Brians mom sent a rocker with her name on it and she loves to rock in it.
That day daycare had a party for all the 3 girls who turned 1 in May. Jilly wore a tiara and pin. Brian and I went for the cupcake and to hang out. The kids were all excited.
I had to work Friday and Brians mom watched Jilly for the day. They had a good day hanging out. We went out for ribs that night and Jilly enjoyed the ribs. Her top tooth is starting to come through.

Memorial Day Weekend

Totally forgot about the beach weekend trip. It was the 4 year anniversary (actually 9 yrs but who is counting anyways) We left Charlotte on Thursday (man was the car packed!) and stayed at my mom's in Columbia that night. We were able to leave at her bedtime so she slept all the way there. We had to listen to Foster pant and pace all night so we were a bit tired the next day.
We left at her naptime at 9:30/10 and arrived at the beach. We ate some lunch and sat on the beach. She LOVED it! Loved the sand and water and just hanging out. We were able to put her in an alcove in the condo to sleep in her play yard without bothering her at night. She woke early everyday but that is OK, we got to see the sun rise over the ocean every morning! We mostly ate in since that is easier now, but we did go to the Marina in Wild Dunes resort and eat a early dinner on the porch. She did well but she was just loud talking. Mostly we hung on the beach and in the water.

Jillians Surgery :(

On Thursday we took Jilly in to have ear tubes placed. We finally made the decision to do it b/c of all the ear infections. We had to be there at 6:15 am. Filled out paper work and sat around till about 7:00. We went back and changed Jilly into a gown and they gave her some medicine to relax her. It was cherry flavor and she didnt like it that much but took it down like a trooper. Brian and I left and the nurses and Dr. Hoover took her to do the surgery. They were done in about 15 mins! The Dr said there was alot of fluid in both ears so the tubes should really help to alleviate them.
Brian took off the whole day and they hung out. He said she slept alot of it, but was fine. On Friday she was so happy and active you wouldnt even know she had surgery the following day.

Today we have started painting her room. I just went out to Lowes to get some PINK (and I mean pink) paint. Its raining and nasty today so a good day to do it.

Bark in the Park today.

Today already has been busy. We took Jilly to a park that had a festival for dogs. we even took Foster who of course stole the show. There were actually a bunch of bullies this time. We went a few yrs ago to this and Foster had a breakdown. He did really well this time.
We dressed Jilly up in her hat and sunglasses. She was to cute. She was amazed at the dogs!.
Breakfast: oatmeal cereal and apricot baby food mixed, Formula/milk in sippy cup
Snack: cereal bar
Snack: cheese (in the park) and puffs
Lunch: peach, rice, hot dog
Choclate milk (yummy, 2nd try)

Naps: 9:15-10:30
Naps: 3:00-

We are still going to bed at 6:30.

ENT visit April 27th

Brian and I went to see the ENT doctor about Jillys ears. Of course we have to make the decision to put them in or not. Her ears are fine, she can hear fine etc etc. However, she has had fluid in them since last week and has so many infections that the ENT said it could make life easier. So I have a call in to schedule to do them.
I started her on goats milk a couple weeks ago. She really seem to enjoy it. I have to add formula to it, since it doens t have as much folic acid as cows milk, but its easier to digest. Its sweeter then cows milk (not to bad actually). Maybe we will all start to drink it..hahaha. Brian wants to go back to cows but I think we will try it a bit longer.

1st EASTER

Easter is over. Brians dad and Patti came down for the weekend. Unfortunatley they brought cold weather but it was still nice. We didnt do much of anything. Jillian has another ear infection so we will go see our friend who is a ENT. She started Augmentum and it hurts her belly. She slept so much over the weekend. LONG naps!!!!
We tried to take Jilly to a Easter Egg Hunt in the mall, but there was no hunt. It was just tables set up for face painting etc and they handed out choclates. O well. Jilly met a Easter bunny but Brian said she didnt like him to much. Sunday my parents came up to eat lunch with us.
It was a quiet Easter Weekend.

WOW. Slacking: Catch Up

Jillian is doing great. Since the Zoo trip we have been just rolling on.
On March 31 we went to Charleston, SC so I could run the Cooper River Bridge 10K. Jilly did great the whole weekend. We drove down to Charleston and she did cry alot on the drive down there but driving home we left at her bedtime and that worked SO MUCh better. She ate at her 1st Japanese resturant. She sat on my lap for alot of the fire work but she didnt cry at all. She slept great, and ate great. We took her to the beach and she LOVED it. Loved the sand and the water.

I have switched daycares. We will be changing May 28th. So I have to give my 2 weeks. She has not nappped well there at all. They have added infants to the room and its just not working.

Columbia Zoo

We went to the zoo today!. It was so beautiful out. 75 degrees and sunny. We met up w/ my mom and dad and then we all went to their house for lunch.
Jilly had so much fun looking at the animals. She didnt cry a peep the whole day. She napped on the way down there and back and was go go go the rest of the day.
The time change so far hasnt messed up to much. She did wake in the new time at 7:50 which is late of course but I was still able to get her down by 7"00 and she was zonked out even though it was light out.

Saturday/Friday: Busy Day

Friday: Jilly and I went grocery shopping. She has the worse diaper rash, and we think its from her diaper ripping and getting that jelly nasty stuff all over her Wed night. So Thursday it got bad and by Friday it was very painful!. I bought some Aveeno oatmeal bath and some Bordeaux Butt Paste like the dr ordered and hopefully it will get better. It seems to have helped the painful part already.
We came home from the store and she took a power nap for 2 hrs. I had to wake her to meet Carly for luch. She tried pizza and loved it. We then went to try on borthday outfits but they didnt fit and they werent what I really wanted. Keep looking I guess.
After all that I put her down from 4-5 for a nap and then we went out to dinner to Sticky Fingers. She got to try BBQ, mac/cheese and apple cinnam. She really liked the mac/cheese. Had her in bed late for her by 7"00.
Slept NOT SO GOOD. Woke up almost every 3 hrs. Not crying really but just awake...

Saturday: Diaper had exploded again. I am off to get a size up in the Baby Dry to see if that works.
2nd Swim class and she great!. I went in this time and Brian took pictures. We splashed and practiced moving along on her belly in the water. She did great. After the class she went with daddy to get his mom at the airport. She was zonked the rest of the early afternoon and took a 2 plus hour nap. Brian actually had to wake her!. After her nap we were off shopping. It was so nice out that she was able to wear her dress.
After shopping she played hard and went to bed by 6:15.

The week wrapping up

Its wednesday and the week is almost over.
Jilly has been doing great at daycare. Still not napping at all and so worn out!. Today she wipped out and Brian had to wake her after 5:00.
When I drop her off in the mornings there are 2 other girls there and they love to hang out together.
Annie gave her a blackeye last week with a peek-a-block but they love hanging out 1st thing in the morning. Jilly is way ahead of them physically even though they are a month/2 older but they are talking much more then her. She has been shrieking alot more and mmmm'ing food more so hopefully her ear has been clearing up.
She LOVED the chicken casserole tonight

After the swim class we went shopping at the mall. Brian is looking to redo Jillys room so we went looking. Found nothing of course so we will probably buy off the internet.

9 MONTH CHECK

Its been awhile.
Jilly had her 9 mth check-up today. Things went well. Her right ear is still infected from 3 weeks ago. We are going to try Omnicef instead of Amoxicllian this time around and re-check in 2 weeks. She hasnt shown any symptoms so I dont get it.
She weighed 20 pds, Height: 28 inches. She has slowed down and is now in the 75-90% range. We discussed eating alot at this visit and she is allowed to try milk every now and then and to get off the bottle by 12 mths. We are down to 4 bottles per day, 3 meals and some snacks when needed. She eats alot off our plates as well.
She LOVED stuffing yesterday and today!
Tomorrow we start swimming classes at the YMCA.
She is down to 2 naps per day and today was a LONG one. The dr wore her out I guess.
She is really crawling now. She pulls up on everything and has matered sitting back down. The problem is she seems to not want to walk anymore and just buckles her knees when we practice. Little stinker :) She mastered crawlilng down the stairs in the living room and loves to crawl into the endtable and get stuck right now.
Still no top teeth yet.

I had to work on Friday (bummer) and she was in daycare for only a few hrs. Same with next Friday but hopefully that will be the last one.
Today was an errand day and she was totally having fun doing nothing. She has really taken off crawling and pulling up on anything that will hold her. Still trying to figure out the new schedule.

Found the DOg Water Bowl

Today we had a fun day. She woke up and crawled/walked the whole morning. Suzanne stopped by w/Collin and Jilly showed off he walking/standing skills. We went to Old Navy and grabbed some lunch. She refused to nap all afternoon so after lunch and running errands she passed out till we had to get her up to go to the Y. After coming home she played in the kitchen and played in Fosters water bowl splashing and trying to crawl into the bowl. Foster just stared at her the whole time.
She is constipated again! I pushed prune juice down her and she loved it.

Saying DA DA :)

Jillian has decided to start speaking. She went from alot of silence to alot of babble in just a few days. A few days ago she came with "da-da" and has been at it non stop. She is also saying other syllables and screeching but its great. She was sort of crabby by late afternoon yesterday and today sort of off.
The 1 circle rash was back on her chest yesterday and a rash on the back of her neck. Not sure if its teeth since she still has the only 1 tooth.
She is really pulling herself up on everything now and crawling up the stairs in the living room. She loves to teethe on the coffee table right now its so cute.
My parents were up to see Jilly for a few hrs. Mom is still looking at homes to move closer..We will see if that ever comes through..
Brian and I were off yesterday and I am off for good from that nasty job until something picks up. A little nerve wracking but I can work per-diem for now when I can. Hawaii trip is on hold.

Walking with the Walker!

Jillian had a great day. I was done early and able to pick her up at daycare by 1:00. Of course she napped the whole day when we got home to when I had to leave to go the gym. But she needed it!. Brian went to the grocery store yesterday and loaded up on Karo Syrup/prune juice/ and wheat bran (cross fingers she does not have my celiac) and we loaded her up and cleaned her out :) She feels much better now and you can tell.
She is walking with her Leap Frog walker really well. The walker we bought this pass weekend I may return she doesnt seem to like it and it only rolls on hardwood/tile so that limits where she can be, plus it is exactly like the exersaucer and jumper so what is the point?
We finally figured out daycare issues. They are feeding her instead of putting her down to nap. The girl likes to sleep but they like to feed..We will see how it goes I discussed issues this week and I think they are listening.
Woke: 6:00 BEd: 6:00 (bath)
Fed: 6:00, 9:00, 12:00, 4:30, 6:00
Nap: 8:00, 11:00, 2:00-4:00
Still only the 1 lower tooth...
Crawled up the 2 stairs in our living room :)
Walked with walker all by herself across the living room.

Constipated Day

The poor baby is having issues. I have tried everything from juices to fruits to warm bath etc..and shes still in pain. I may have to break out a thermometer. UGH.
On a brighter side. She is crawling like crazy! She has learned to pull herself up on things as well. She will be a little terror very soon. We are on a great schedule during the weekends, and we even pretty much cut out a mid afternoon bottle but I wonder if that is why she is so constipated..Not enough liquids maybe?
Wake: 6:30 BEd : 6:15 pm
FEd: 7:00 am (bottle), 10:00 (apricots and bottle), 1:30/2 (sweet pototoes, bottle), 5:00 (prunes/patmeal), 6:15 (bottle). Lots of water and mixed 1 with juice.
Naps: 8:30-9:20, 12:00-1:30pm, 3:30-5:00 pm.

She fianlly went but the poor baby screamed so hard for about 15 minutes. :( So sad. Hopefully it will get better. I will keep making her fruits like peaches/pears etc..The oatmeal/prunes is Earth Best and she really liked it. I have no clue how to make prunes into babyfood..

She was really working on pulling herself up the stair in the living room. Might not be long..She's done alot in just this last week. Back to daycare tomorrow.

Crawling!

She did it she took her 1st crawl a few nights ago. And now she crawls and stops to sit up and keeps going. She also likes to instead of being on her hands and knees she is actually on her hands and feet butt held high in the air..Too funny.
She has a cold and so does the rest of the family now..Sleeping well and nappping like a champ today!

Crabby Day: Sitting up By herself

Today for some reason Jilly is very crabby. She woke up later then usual at 7 am so its been off all day. She is needing alot of attention which is unlike her. Not sure if its her teeth, reflux issues, cold or what...She has been coughing alot at night starting at 8:00pm but she doesnt really do it during the day. Besides a runny nose you wouldnt even think a cold. Brian took her to the ped office this week to rule out ear infection and they said it could be teething top and bottom teeth. So far she only has 1 bottom. (She weighs 21 pds!)
She is however learning to sit up all by herself. I caught her last week on a fluke. But this weekend we actually saw her do it and she is always sitting up now in her crib. Brian has lowered it so far down!. Of course she is sitting up and not napping well.
She has also slowed down on eating. When she is with us she has completely cut out the 3:00 bottle. Daycare still seems to have issues of feeding but there can be worse I guess. She has tried ALOT of new foods and we are also giving Earth Best jar food for dinner. My dinners came out so gummy when frozen...
